A History of The Salon Langley Park

The Best Hairdressers In Langley Park

History Of The Salon Langley Park - Celebrating 20 Years!

August 2003 - August 2023

The Salon Langley Park was born as a result of Salon Owners Alan & Michael wanting to work together. Over the years the team has grown and the salon has gone from strength to strength. Alan & Michael have always said that the passion and creativity of their brilliant team alongside ongoing education and the support of their wonderfully loyal clients is what keeps them ahead of their competitors.

Michael says: "Thank you all for your continued love & support. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our amazingly talented team who work hard all year round - we would be lost without you! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support & loyalty.

Michael goes on to say: Meeting Alan and building The Salon up from scratch is my biggest achievement. 23 years later I never dreamt that I'd still be working alongside my best friend (who also happens to be the most amazing hairdresser) doing what I love. Another passion of mine is passing my wealth of knowledge on to the next generation of hairdressers. To see our young team of apprentices flourish into skilled, confident stylists makes me extremely proud.

Both Alan & Michael are masters of their craft and have a fiercely loyal clientele who travel from as far afield as London and Birmingham to allow them to work their magic.

Alan had left a job managing a salon in Jesmond to join Michael. He has never even been to Langley Park before! At first, the duo rented two small rooms, however,  Alan was instantly a huge hit with clients thanks to his fabulous cutting and colouring skills. To start with Michael was working just one day a week in the salon as he still had a second salon in Sacriston which had been established since November 1989. Within two short years, The Salon Langley Park had expanded very quickly and so Alan & Michal took over the whole building including two beauty rooms. They went from having four chairs to twelve and over the years established a team of fifteen staff members.

Alan describes working at the salon:  " Working at The Salon is incredibly rewarding and such a fun environment but it has taken a lot of hard work and determination to get where we are today.

I couldn't and wouldn't have done it without the incredible Micheal Embleton. He is my rock and my biggest pain lol! His passion is off the scale. He is the master of everything to do with teaching hairdressing and is great at introducing new ideas and products from around the world into the salon.

A massive thank you to our brilliant team and our amazing clients who I know will be friends for life."
