Last year was all about pretty pastels and granny greys – so what’ll be the major hair colour trends for 2016?

It’s All About The Bronde

If you have brown hair then it may be time to embrace the latest trend for ‘brondes’ – brunette hair with shimmering blonde either framing your face or added as highlights. If you’re blonde, think more buttery beige and sandy blondes, less icy blondes. Imagine how you would look with gorgeous caramel, golden or honey highlights throughout your hair for a sun-kissed look!

Shimmering Rose Gold

Everyone saw the ‘granny grey’ hair trend of the last year explode, but it looks like it’s finally dying down. As much as 2015 was all about cool grays and soft violets, it looks like we’ll be seeing more warmer colours coming into play for 2016 – think golds, rose golds, and peaches.

Keep It Natural(ish!)

2016 is all about the natural, worn in look as opposed to the harsher block colours and platinum’s of 2015. Whether you’re blonde, brunette or red – ask your stylist to add some soft, unorganised highlights for a more sultry look. Keep it as healthy and shiny as possible by taking great care of it with a luxury hair treatment at The Salon.

Ecaille Blending

The ecaille, or ‘tortoiseshell’ technique will be strong in 2016. This method takes three or more sympathetic shades and working them through the hair to create movement. Bonus: if you have thin hair this style can add dimension and give the appearance of more volume!

Cuivre Reds and Bold Burgundys

Get ready to see this word, meaning “copper” in French, all over the place as this shimmery shade gets big in 2016. “The ‘Cuivre’ trend of reflective intense copper is set to be huge in 2016. Also set to take off this year are bold burgundy shades. This beautiful deep, reddish purple hue is the perfect balance of natural and unnatural shades.
